The Workforce Development Policy Committee has lead responsibility in ADCS for issues relating to:

• professional standards and registration
• training and qualifications frameworks
• workforce planning
• ADCS representation and links with national regulatory and training bodies

Updates

November 2011

The Committee is planning a joint meeting with ADASS to discuss social work workforce issues, including the potential for a shared approach or work plan on the implementation of Munro recommendations, particularly:

• Chief social worker
• Principal child and families social worker
• Culture change to support move from compliance to professional judgement, learning, reflection and challenge
• Links with HEIs on course content and recruitment of trainees

The Committee are canvassing interest amongst regional leads for regional workforce development meetings to generate a robust national picture of workforce concerns.
