New Futures: what is happening to children's services?
In November 2010, the National College and ADCS undertook a joint survey of DCSs to provide a snapshot of changes in the way that children's services are delivered by local authorities. The survey was followed up by a 45 minute conversation with DCSs in 12 local authorities that had participated, selected because their response to the survey raised issues that seemed worthy of further exploration.
This report summarises the findings from these interviews and the findings of a second survey undertaken in April 2011 by the National College and ADCS to establish whether the proposals reported in in 2010 had been implemented as planned.
